Purpose

Deputation allowance is paid to employees who are deputed to other factory / field / office locations

Applicability

All E&Ms (A1 to C3) of factory and non-factory locations.

Guidelines

  • Allowance is payable where the deputation tenure is more than three weeks at a stretch
  • Classification of cities as per domestic travel rules
  • Incase, the accommodation is provided by the company in those cases 40% of deputation allowance upto C3 and 50% of deputation allowance for D1 and above will be paid towards boarding and other incidentals else full amount would be paid
  • This allowance will not be applicable on transfers / relocation
  • There is no need to produce any vouchers to avail this benefit
  • Deputation would be only on recommendation by HODs / Divisional heads followed by official communication to the employee from HRD
  • Deputation duration should not exceed 3 months, if extended employee would be transferred to the location
  • Payment would be made along with the monthly salary and Income Tax would be applicable

An employee, however, is eligible only for daily allowance as per domestic travel rules in the following instances:

  • where he/she is initially deputed for a period less than three weeks and his/her stay is extended beyond this period
  • where the period of deputation is more than three weeks, but not in one single location

For Grade D1 and above – as per domestic travel rules.

However, if accommodation is provided by the company / employee avails company canteen facility, 50% of the monthly total boarding eligibility amount will be paid according to the classification of cities, as deputation allowance.
