Purpose

To enhance the competency levels of employees by organizing in house and external training programs derived from competency gaps (both functional and behavioral competencies) and ensure the effectiveness of these programs through feedback, post test, follow up projects, assignments.

Applicability

TVS Motor Learning Management System facilitates learning of employees by providing platform for role based competency development of employees. Executives & managers are kept updated on the qualification status of competencies applicable to their current role & next role by providing tracking system. Employees can view the training certification status for the competency gaps assessed by their managers. Following is the procedure for attending internal / external training

  • Internal training
    • Functional and behavioral competencies are mapped for various roles
    • Competency assessment of the employees is done based by Managers based on their current role
    • After the assessment, training needs are identified
    • According to the training needs, E&T consolidates training need for the year
    • E&T prepares annual training plan and training calendar is released quarterly
    • Nominations are obtained from employees themselves and programs are conducted in IQL Anekal or Learning Centre Hosur as per training calendar
    • After nomination if the employee fails to attend the training, then the attendance for the day is considered as Loss of Pay and is regularized post consultation with respective HRBP’s
    • Post training, based on module, post-test is conducted and / or projects are assigned for measuring training effectiveness. The online evaluation system enables participants to take online tests & get certified for a training program. It also facilitates instantaneous viewing of test results
    • As a guideline, each employee has to attend minimum 1 or maximum 2 training programs in a month
  • External Training

    The external training system provides a platform to request for and get approval to attend externally organized trainings, workshops and seminars
    • Training needs is identified by section heads, HODs of the particular Department.
    • Nomination is represented by HR Partners / E&T representative for Head – E&T review and approval
    • Post confirmation of nomination, employees get confirmation mail from E&T representative
    • Delegate fee, if any is borne by E&T except for Expos, exhibitions attended in personal capacity or not approved by E&T .
    • Travel arrangements/ TAF is being raised from their respective department budget
    • Post training, employees share the feedback to respective manager and E&T representative along with action plan
    • In addition to formal training opportunities, employees can access e-Library : TVSM’s online knowledge repository which enables employees to easily and rapidly access valuable training material, books and videos
